Transition to Professional Chess

Harika’s transition to professional chess was marked by various challenges and accomplishments. She earned the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM) in 2002, becoming one of the youngest players to achieve this feat. As she progressed, Harika Dronavalli participated in numerous international tournaments, facing tough competitors and gaining valuable experience.

Despite her growing success, Harika Dronavalli faced setbacks, especially in high-stakes competitions like the Olympiad. Her previous performances were marked by near misses, which sometimes led to disappointment and frustration. However, she used these experiences as learning opportunities, developing a stronger mental game and refining her strategies.
